Daniel Berg

Daniel Berg is currently Chief of Party of the USAID Better Energy project which is designed to develop and support local solutions for improving energy efficiency and reducing Serbia’s dependence on imported fossil fuels. In his 30 year career, he has been consistently engaged on economic reforms and development in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. After more than 20 years at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), including 3.5 years as Director, Serbia, Daniel has taken on numerous consulting roles with a focus on sustainable finance and energy efficiency. The Better Energy project brings knowledge, tools, techniques and small grants to improve both supply-side and demand-side energy usage and perhaps most importantly seeks to change perceptions about the benefits and possibilities of investing in energy efficiency.
